My Experience
I completed my Masters in Applied Psychology at Victoria University in 2002, before
accepting a two year position in the Performance Psychology Department at the Australian
Institute of Sport in Canberra. During this time I worked with a wide range of athletes and
coaches, and travelled domestically and internationally to present sport psychology seminars
and workshops. My main work was as the psychologist for the AIS Netball squad, AIS
Women's Basketball squad, and the AIS Women's Gymnastics program. My role included
performance enhancement, crisis intervention, and general counselling. I have also worked
in a variety of other areas of psychology including crisis support, and drug and alcohol
programs.
Aside from providing individual counselling, I consult to WestVic Academy of Sport and
several other sporting bodies. I also consult to corporate clients in career transition, sport,
fitness, and health areas, including corporate health and high performance, and lecture
at Victoria University across a range of subjects. I am also a facilitator of the Life! Type II
Diabetes Prevention Program recently launched by Diabetes Victoria. This is a lifestyle
management program with proven results, that we hope to investigate offering at the City
Baths Sports Medicine Clinic in the future. We will send further information about this as it
becomes available.
I would love to discuss how we could work together to support your clients – please don't
hesitate to contact me with any questions. You can leave a message for me with reception,
or chat with me in person on a Friday morning. Alternatively, I can be reached on 0414 710
536.
